Micron Technology announced a $24 billion investment in Singapore over the next ten years. The plan includes constructing a new advanced wafer fabrication facility. This facility will add 700,000 square feet of cleanroom space. Wafer output is expected to begin in the second half of 2028.

The expansion aligns with strong market demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI applications. Analysts note Micron's HBM products are sold out for 2026. Demand stems from components in GPUs supplied by Nvidia and AMD. The ongoing memory supply shortage pushed DRAM prices to their highest levels since 2019.
