Micron CEO and President Sanjay Mehrotra reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its manufacturing footprint in India during the India AI Summit in New Delhi.
Mehrotra directly linked this strategic expansion to the escalating hardware requirements of artificial intelligence systems. These systems demand increasingly powerful memory and storage solutions, specifically DRAM and NAND.
As AI models grow and require more real-time processing, Mehrotra noted that memory performance has become as critical as algorithmic advancements. The expanded Indian operations will support the data-intensive needs of the next phase of AI development.
