Micron Technology will launch production at its Sanand, Gujarat, assembly, testing, marking, and packaging (ATMP) facility by the end of February 2026. A Ministry of Electronics and IT official announced the schedule at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The project represents India’s first commercial-scale semiconductor manufacturing operation. This facility serves as a primary component of the India Semiconductor Mission.

Rising demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI infrastructure underpins the investment. The expansion diversifies Micron’s global footprint and positions India as a strategic hub in the semiconductor supply chain.
