Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Micron Technology’s new assembly, testing, marking, and packaging (ATMP) plant in Sanand, Gujarat, on February 28, 2026.
The facility represents one of India’s first large-scale semiconductor units. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to create approximately 5,000 direct jobs. This expansion aims to strengthen India’s position within the global electronics supply chain.
Simultaneously, S&P Global Ratings upgraded Micron’s credit rating to BBB from BBB-. The agency cited expectations for increased scale and accelerated growth. This positive outlook is driven by surging demand for memory products used in artificial intelligence applications.
