China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) inspected Nio's Anhui factory for safety and quality on July 30-31, 2026.
These checks formed part of a broader regulatory sweep. The sweep also included automakers Chery and JAC. It followed similar reviews at Xpeng and GAC Aion the prior week.
Regulators focused on production consistency, intelligent connected vehicle system safety, and manufacturing capabilities. Officials collected sample vehicles and battery packs for third-party testing. This testing aims to ensure compliance with national standards.
The MIIT stated its intent to deepen its campaign for quality and safety improvement. This signals increased oversight for the industry.
