NIO Power signed a national framework agreement with state-owned generator China Huaneng Group. The partnership expands a provincial pilot to provide standardized guidance for energy collaboration across China. Both entities will cooperate on virtual power plants, electricity trading, and green power consumption.

NIO will utilize its battery swap and charging stations to provide grid peak-shaving and frequency regulation. This development transforms NIO’s energy infrastructure into a new business line for grid stabilization.

Separately, NIO recalled 686 Firefly brand vehicles in China due to a potential steering system defect. The recall affects units manufactured between March 20 and April 2, 2026.
