Nokia secured an exclusive multi-year contract with Telefónica to deploy networking solutions for 17 new edge data centers across Spain. The project establishes a sovereign, AI-ready digital infrastructure to provide high-speed, low-latency computing and storage. This network supports AI training and inferencing at the edge for critical digital services.
In a separate partnership with NEC, Nokia will modernize and expand Eletronet’s optical backbone network in Brazil. The expansion adds 8,000 kilometers of new fiber routes. The upgraded infrastructure supports transmission speeds of up to 1.2 Tb/s per channel.
