NVIDIA launched its next-generation 'Vera Rubin' AI platform at CES 2026. The platform is now in full production. This complete, rack-scale system integrates six new chip types, including the Vera CPU and Rubin GPU.

The Vera Rubin system aims to significantly reduce the cost of AI training and inference. NVIDIA designed the platform to create a difficult-to-challenge ecosystem.

Separately, NVIDIA introduced Alpamayo, a family of open-source AI reasoning models for self-driving cars. Mercedes-Benz will be the first automaker to integrate this full technology stack, starting with the new CLA model.

Following the announcements, NVIDIA shares saw a modest rise. Reports noted renewed optimism in the "AI trade."
