NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced at an AI conference in Scotland that 2027 chip sales will double 2026 figures. NVIDIA stock (NVDA) opened up 2.1% on September 17. The shares reached $218.58 following the announcement.
The company also released preview results for its next-generation Vera Rubin platform. The Vera Rubin NVL72 achieves inference throughput 3.7 times higher than the current GB300. Huang confirmed the Rubin platform is in full production. Shipping is scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
Huang rejected calls for an industry-wide slowdown in AI research and development. He stated that safety is the responsibility of individual corporations.
