Oklo Inc. and Centrus Energy are launching a joint venture to provide deconversion services for high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU). This specialized fuel is a critical requirement for advanced nuclear reactors.

The companies will co-locate the deconversion facility at Centrus’s existing uranium enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio. This integration aims to strengthen the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.

The facility will support Oklo’s planned 1.2-GW power campus. This project is designed to provide dedicated electricity for Meta data centers.

Integrating enrichment and deconversion processes is expected to create operational efficiencies and lower production costs. The partnership seeks to reduce logistical challenges in transporting nuclear material to improve the competitiveness of the U.S. nuclear industry.
