Oracle, in collaboration with OpenAI and Vantage Data Centers, has announced the development of a new data center campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin. This campus is part of the 'Stargate' initiative and will feature four data centers, providing nearly a gigawatt of capacity dedicated to artificial intelligence workloads. The project represents a significant step in the partnership's plan to invest in up to 4.5 GW of additional AI capacity. The development is expected to create over 4,000 skilled construction jobs and more than 1,000 permanent positions once operational. Vantage Data Centers is also investing at least $175 million in local infrastructure upgrades to support the new campus. This move underscores Oracle's rapid expansion of its cloud capacity to meet the surging demand for AI, reinforcing its position as a critical infrastructure provider for leading AI companies like OpenAI.
