Oracle's head of communications for Australia and New Zealand, Aurora Sassone, has left the company amidst a significant global restructuring aimed at increasing investment in generative AI. Her departure coincides with what Bloomberg has described as Oracle's "largest-ever restructuring," which is part of a broader strategy to reduce headcount in certain areas, including marketing, to fund the company's accelerated AI initiatives. In addition to the leadership change, Oracle has also recently switched its public relations agency in the region. Communications for Australia and New Zealand will now be managed from Oracle's regional headquarters in Singapore. These changes signal a substantial strategic shift within Oracle as it pivots more aggressively towards artificial intelligence.
