Equinox Gold has received a positive Record of Decision from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for the South Railroad project in Nevada, marking the completion of the federal permitting process. This final approval allows for the commencement of early construction works on the open-pit, heap leach mine, with the first gold production anticipated in 2028.

The South Railroad project was a key asset for Orla Mining before its merger with Equinox Gold, which was completed in July 2026. The project is a significant part of the combined company's growth strategy and is expected to produce an average of 130,000 ounces of gold annually over its first five years. This permitting milestone is the first major one for Equinox since the business combination.
