Petrobras will invest over R$2.8 billion in the state of Amazonas through 2030. This initiative marks a strategic return to the company’s significant onshore gas reserves.

The company will allocate approximately R$2.5 billion to the Urucu hub to resume drilling and expand production. This project represents the first major investment in the region in 10 years.

The expansion includes drilling new wells and constructing 40 kilometers of pipelines. These efforts are expected to increase production by 4,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The Urucu field currently provides about 65% of the electricity for Manaus and surrounding municipalities.

Petrobras will use the remaining funds to modernize the river logistics fleet of its subsidiary, Transpetro. The construction of new barges aims to improve fuel transportation efficiency across the Amazon. The total investment is projected to create thousands of regional jobs.
