Planet Labs PBC secured two contracts with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
The company received a one-year, $22 million contract extension for AI-enabled Maritime Domain Awareness. This technology monitors maritime events such as ship-to-ship transfers and covert dark fleet activities.
A second contract was awarded in partnership with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for Planet’s Global Monitoring Service. This agreement provides the U.S. government with high-frequency satellite imagery for crisis response and national defense. Financial terms for the DIU partnership were not disclosed.
