Paramount Skydance's proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery overcame a legal challenge in Oregon. The state's attorney general's office withdrew a court motion that aimed to delay the merger and compel Paramount to provide documents for a state investigation.

The Oregon Department of Justice withdrew the motion due to Paramount's non-compliance with investigative demands. While this removes a specific roadblock, the state indicated it would consider its next steps, suggesting its inquiry may not be over. A Paramount spokesperson expressed pleasure with the withdrawal, reiterating the merger is "lawful" and "pro-competitive."

Despite this development, the mega-merger still faces significant regulatory scrutiny. Reports indicate several other U.S. states are considering lawsuits to block the transaction on antitrust grounds. The deal is not yet finalized.
