PayPal has named Enrique Lores, the departing President and CEO of HP Inc., as its new chief executive, effective March 1, 2026. The appointment follows the departure of Alex Chriss, with PayPal's board stating that the "pace of change and execution was not in line with the Board's expectations." Lores has been a member of PayPal's board for nearly five years.
The announcement coincided with PayPal reporting fourth-quarter earnings and revenue that missed analyst expectations, leading to a significant drop in its stock price in pre-market trading. Until Lores takes the helm, PayPal's CFO and COO, Jamie Miller, will serve as interim CEO. Simultaneously, HP announced that board member Bruce Broussard will serve as its interim CEO while it searches for a permanent successor.
