PayPal and Amazon will introduce a "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) option for customers in Germany and Austria. The service launches in August 2026. Named PayPal Ratenzahlung, Amazon will integrate it into its German website (Amazon.de) and mobile app. The rollout will be gradual.

The collaboration allows shoppers to split eligible purchases into fixed monthly installments. Purchases can range from €30 to €10,000. Payment terms will range from three to 24 months. Amazon customers will receive exclusive longer terms of 36 and 48 months. Over 40 million PayPal users in the region gain a new flexible payment method on one of the largest e-commerce platforms.
