Transocean secured an agreement with Equinor for three Cat D harsh-environment semisubmersible rigs on the Norwegian shelf. The deal adds more than $1 billion to the company’s contract backlog.
The agreement covers a combined seven rig-years and is conditional on license approvals. The Transocean Enabler received a three-year contract starting in the first quarter of 2028. The Transocean Encourage was awarded a two-year contract also beginning in the first quarter of 2028.
The Transocean Endurance will commence a two-year program in the second quarter of 2027. Base day rates are $399,000. Rates are expected to exceed $400,000 per day at commencement.
