Roche announced that results from its Phase III evERA Breast Cancer study were published in The New England Journal of Medicine. The trial evaluated investigational giredestrant plus everolimus in patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer whose disease had progressed after prior treatment.
The study met its primary endpoints, showing a significant improvement in progression-free survival (PFS). Compared with standard endocrine therapy plus everolimus, the combination reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 44% in the overall population and by 62% in patients with an ESR1 mutation.
The therapy was well tolerated, with no new safety signals observed. The results support the potential for this all-oral regimen to become a treatment option for this patient group.
