SAP has signed definitive agreements to acquire data lakehouse provider Dremio and AI research startup Prior Labs. The financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
The Dremio acquisition aims to unify SAP and non-SAP data within the SAP Business Data Cloud to accelerate analytics and AI workloads.
SAP will also invest over €1 billion into Prior Labs over the next four years. This investment will establish a frontier AI lab focused on Tabular Foundation Models (TFMs) for structured business data. Prior Labs will continue to operate as an independent unit.
Both transactions are subject to regulatory approval and are expected to close in 2026.
