StandardAero announced it has been chosen by GE Aerospace to build, maintain, and overhaul the CT7-2E1 engines for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence's New Medium Helicopter (NMH) fleet. The agreement is part of a larger program where Leonardo will supply 23 AW149 helicopters, powered by 46 of these GE engines, to the UK Armed Forces.
The contract covers the initial 46 engines plus spares, parts, and long-term support, with helicopter deliveries scheduled between 2030 and 2033. This deal extends a decades-long partnership between StandardAero and GE Aerospace and deepens its 85-year relationship with the UK MOD. The work will be handled at StandardAero's facility in Gosport, UK, which is expected to sustain skilled jobs in the region.
