Shopify launched Sidekick App Extensions on June 17, 2026. The release arrived as part of the Spring '26 Edition updates.
Third-party developers can now integrate applications directly into the Sidekick AI assistant. This enables merchants to manage various store functions through a single conversational interface.
The initial launch features over 15 partners including Klaviyo, Loop, and Yotpo. Launch partner Avia provides in-store intelligence to unify online and offline commerce data.
Merchants can analyze physical foot traffic and customer demographics directly within Sidekick. The AI assistant combines sales and physical traffic data to explain store performance trends for the first time.
