Snap Inc. acquired augmented reality firm Illumix. The deal aims to advance the development of Snap’s Spectacles smart glasses. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition aligns with Snap’s strategy to prioritize augmented reality as a core business. Earlier this year, Snap established a dedicated internal unit called Specs Inc. This unit focuses on the company's smart eyewear ambitions.
