Sony is halting the release of major single-player PlayStation titles on PC, reversing a multi-platform strategy maintained for the past six years. This shift ensures highly anticipated games like Ghost of Yotei and Saros remain exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console.
Sony aims to bolster hardware sales by positioning exclusive titles as the primary incentive for purchasing PlayStation consoles.
The company will continue to release online multiplayer and live-service titles, such as Marathon, on PC. Games from external developers published by Sony, including Death Stranding 2, also remain slated for PC releases.
Markets have not yet reported a specific stock reaction to this strategic pivot.
