TCL Electronics signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 51% controlling stake in Sony’s global home entertainment business. Sony Group will retain a 49% interest in the resulting joint venture.
The new company will manage Sony’s television and audio portfolios, including the BRAVIA brand. The transferred businesses have an enterprise value of approximately 102.8 billion yen.
Operations are expected to commence in April 2027 following regulatory approval. The joint venture will handle all stages from product development and manufacturing to global sales.
The deal combines Sony’s brand technology with TCL’s manufacturing scale and supply chain capabilities.
