Stellantis is recalling 201,976 Jeep vehicles in the United States. A software malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system triggered the safety action.
The defect may prevent warning lights from activating when tire pressure is low. This failure increases the overall risk of a crash.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed the vehicles do not comply with federal safety standards. The recall impacts nine model lines, including the Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Cherokee.
Authorized dealers will perform a software update to rectify the malfunction. Stellantis shares experienced a slight decline in premarket trading following the announcement.
