A former senior attorney editor filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Thomson Reuters in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. The plaintiff alleges the company fired her for organizing and co-authoring an open letter.
Approximately 200 employees signed the letter urging the company to end its contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The lawsuit claims the firing was retaliatory following media coverage of the protest. Employees expressed concerns that Thomson Reuters products provided personal and location data to the federal agency.
