Elon Musk confirmed Tesla will begin producing the Cybercab at its Texas gigafactory in April. This robotaxi features no steering wheel or pedals. The vehicle supports Tesla's strategic shift toward autonomous driving, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Musk described the vehicle as a radical redesign of car manufacturing. Tesla aims for a production rate five times higher than current methods once the line fully ramps. Initial output will follow a slow S-curve ramp-up because of the entirely new manufacturing process.

The Cybercab will join Tesla’s existing robotaxi fleet, which launched in Austin using modified Model Y vehicles in mid-2025. Tesla shares rose 0.2% in overnight trading following the announcement.
