Tesla launched new residential solar panels, the TSP-415 and TSP-420. This launch completes the company's home energy ecosystem.
The company now offers an all-Tesla package that includes solar panels, the Powerwall battery, an inverter, and EV charging hardware. Tesla assembles the new panels at its Gigafactory in Buffalo, New York. This location leverages domestic manufacturing incentives.
The new system features a rail-less mounting design. This design sits closer to the roof. Installation is reportedly 33% faster.
By controlling the entire hardware and software stack, Tesla aims to standardize the residential solar experience and reduce costs. The integrated package will be available through Tesla's direct installation business and its network of over 1,000 certified installers. Tesla seeks to capture more of the residential energy market by offering this streamlined, single-source solution.
