Tesla (TSLA) shares declined more than 4% during Monday’s trading session. The drop followed a second deadline extension granted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for data regarding Full Self-Driving (FSD) accidents.
Tesla now has until March 6 to provide the requested information. The submission must include video footage and event data recorder files from incidents involving the company's driver-assistance technology.
Tesla stated the delay was necessary to prioritize a separate NHTSA query before gathering the extensive data required for this investigation. This development intensifies regulatory scrutiny regarding the safety and marketing of Tesla’s autonomous driving features.
