The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released its final report regarding a February 2024 turbulence incident involving a United Airlines Boeing 777.

Investigators concluded that air traffic controllers failed to relay a recent turbulence report from another aircraft to the United flight crew. This communication gap prevented the pilots of Flight 1890 from warning the cabin crew and passengers of sudden, violent air movement during the descent into Newark Liberty International Airport.

Three flight attendants sustained serious injuries while conducting pre-landing checks. One crew member suffered a shattered femur and crushed vertebrae during the event.
