United Airlines will cut more than 100 daily departures from its summer schedule at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The airline is reducing its initial plan of 780 daily flights to approximately 650. This reduction complies with a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandate to prevent delays. The FAA capped operations due to a major construction project and a projected surge in flight volume.

The revised schedule represents an 11% increase in departures compared to the summer of 2025. United Vice President of O'Hare Omar Idris stated the carrier preserved flight times between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Changes to the afternoon peak period will be minimal. United confirmed it does not plan any staff reductions as a result of these changes.
