United Airlines announced the United Relax Row for economy cabins on long-haul flights. This feature allows passengers to convert a row of three seats into a lie-flat couch. The initiative belongs to a broader cabin redesign called the Elevated experience.
The airline plans to launch the Relax Row in 2027 on Boeing 787 and 777 widebody aircraft. United expects a full rollout of the new seating option by 2030.
Passengers booking this option receive a custom mattress pad, a larger blanket, and extra pillows. The package also includes a children's travel kit. This move follows an industry trend of enhancing economy cabins to meet demand for increased space.
