United Airlines flight attendants ratified a new five-year labor contract to end contentious negotiations.
Approximately 30,000 employees are covered under the agreement. Union members approved the deal with an 82% majority vote. This marks the first pay increase for the group in nearly six years.
The contract provides an average base pay raise of 31% by August. Employees will receive more than $700 million in back pay. The agreement also introduces boarding pay to compensate staff during passenger embarkation.
United is the final major U.S. carrier with unionized flight attendants to reach a post-pandemic labor deal.
