United Airlines introduced a three-tier fare structure for Polaris business class and Premium Plus cabins. The system applies to many long-haul international and transcontinental routes. New categories include Base, Standard, and Flexible pricing options. The rollout begins in select markets this month with broader expansion planned for later this year.
The new Base fare excludes complimentary seat selection and a second checked bag. Base passengers lose access to the premium Polaris Lounge but retain United Club entry. All tiers provide the same seat and in-flight service. Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella stated the change allows customers to prioritize specific benefits or flexibility.
