United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) reported significant progress toward a new labor contract. The breakthrough follows years of negotiations and signals a potential end to the long-running dispute. Both parties indicate a tentative agreement may be reached later this month.

The union suspended a planned Day of Action protest scheduled for March 19. This development follows a week of mediated talks between the airline and labor representatives.

United Airlines stated its proposal would make its cabin crew the highest-paid among major U.S. carriers. A successful agreement would avert a potential strike previously suggested by the union.

Further mediation sessions will take place in Washington D.C. from March 24 to 27. These meetings aim to resolve the remaining issues in the contract dispute.
