United Airlines began ramping up operations on Tuesday, Feb. 24, following a powerful winter storm that paralyzed travel in the U.S. Northeast.
The blizzard caused more than 8,000 flight disruptions across the aviation industry. United Airlines cancelled approximately 20% of its scheduled flights on Monday as the storm blanketed the region.
Management cautioned that operating conditions remain challenging despite the planned increase in service. The storm created significant logistical and financial pressure on carriers throughout the affected corridor.
