United Airlines selected GE Aerospace’s GEnx engines to power its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet on February 16, 2026. The agreement includes a firm order for 300 GEnx engines and additional spare units. This transaction will make United Airlines the largest operator of GEnx engines in the world.

The investment aligns with United’s strategy to modernize its long-haul fleet with more efficient, next-generation aircraft. The GEnx model currently powers two-thirds of all Boeing 787 aircraft in operation. This deal solidifies the long-standing partnership between United Airlines and GE Aerospace.
