Visa has announced a strategic collaboration with Pismo and Southeast Asian neobank Circle Asia Technologies to launch Vietnam's first AI-powered PayLater card. This initiative aims to increase credit card penetration in Vietnam by dismantling traditional barriers to financial access. The card is scheduled for a phased rollout starting in early 2026. The new card will utilize AI for instant approvals and underwriting, enabling users to build credit without a bank account. The technology is powered by Pismo, a fintech company acquired by Visa in 2024, whose platform is designed to help financial institutions and fintechs innovate and scale their services quickly.
