Visa has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Prisma Medios de Pago and Newpay from Advent International. This strategic acquisition aims to strengthen Visa’s local client partnerships and foster payment innovation within Argentina.
Prisma provides issuer processing for credit, debit, and prepaid cards. Newpay operates the Banelco ATM network, real-time payment services, and the PagoMisCuentas bill payment platform.
Visa will integrate these local platforms into its global network to accelerate the rollout of advanced financial technologies. The integration focuses on deploying tokenization, biometric authentication, and intelligent risk tools.
These enhancements are designed to increase payment speed and security for consumers and businesses across the country.
