Norway’s Ministry of Energy approved the reopening of the Albuskjell, Vest Ekofisk, and Tommeliten Gamma gas fields. These North Sea assets have remained dormant since 1998.
ConocoPhillips will lead the redevelopment project alongside its partners. Production at the sites is scheduled to resume in 2028.
The project requires a total investment of approximately $2 billion, or 19 billion Norwegian kroner. This initiative aims to enhance European energy security by leveraging existing infrastructure near the Ekofisk complex.
