ConocoPhillips commenced oil production at its Coyote 3SX development on Alaska’s North Slope.
The company invested approximately $800 million into the project. Project approval was originally granted in late 2025. Construction concluded ahead of schedule and under budget. The development adds new volume to the U.S. domestic energy supply.
The project is expected to reach a peak production rate of 12,000 barrels of oil per day. ConocoPhillips utilized existing infrastructure within the Kuparuk River Unit to bring production online. Operations on state land will generate royalties and tax revenue for Alaska. The output adds new barrels to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System.
The project employed approximately 365 workers at its construction peak. Peak employment occurred in April 2026. This development aligns with the corporate strategy to maximize value from legacy Alaska assets.
