Golden Pass LNG, a joint venture between QatarEnergy (70%) and ExxonMobil (30%), exported its first cargo from Sabine Pass, Texas. This shipment marks the start of commercial operations for the facility. The project achieved its first production in late March 2026.

The milestone concludes a multi-year construction phase costing more than $10 billion. Feedgas intake reached record levels as the facility ramps up operations. This new capacity will drive demand for natural gas from the Haynesville and Permian basins.

The completed project will feature three liquefaction trains. Total capacity will reach approximately 18 million metric tons per year. This startup reinforces the United States' position in global energy security amid high international demand.
