ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy shipped the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from the Golden Pass terminal in Texas. This shipment marks the official commencement of commercial operations at the facility.
The terminal is expected to reach an annual export capacity of 18 million tonnes once fully operational. This output will significantly increase the export capabilities of the US Gulf Coast.
The project provides ExxonMobil with long-term, gas-linked earnings to complement major oil assets in the Permian Basin and Guyana. This expansion targets rising global demand and geopolitical uncertainty affecting energy supply chains.
