Santos and partner Repsol have achieved first oil at the Pikka Phase 1 development on Alaska’s North Slope. This project represents one of the largest new oil developments in the state.
Crude oil is currently flowing into the sales pipeline. Production will ramp up to an initial gross rate of 20,000 barrels per day (bpd) over the coming weeks.
The field is expected to reach a peak production plateau of 80,000 bpd by the third quarter of 2026. Santos anticipates generating its first sales revenue from the project within two to three months.
Pikka serves as a key growth asset for Santos as it expands North American operations. The project diversifies the company's portfolio and establishes a new long-term revenue stream.
