Volkswagen has officially launched the Volkswagen and Jetta brands in Uzbekistan. This expansion marks the first time the company’s Chinese operations will entirely manage and supply an international export market. The presidents of Germany and Uzbekistan attended the launch forum in Tashkent to commemorate the strategic milestone.
The move leverages Volkswagen’s manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure in China to target fast-growing regions. Uzbekistan’s automotive demand has more than doubled since 2021.
Volkswagen also plans to establish a local production plant in Tashkent in partnership with Alyans Auto. The facility is expected to begin operations in late 2026.
