Archer Aviation will acquire Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid from The Boeing Company. This move establishes a comprehensive platform for physical AI in the aerospace and defense sectors. The deal integrates Boeing’s autonomous flight expertise with Archer’s AI foundation models.
The transaction significantly scales Archer’s business through established platforms. Drone-maker Insitu is expected to contribute over $200 million in annual revenue. Insitu currently maintains operations across 35 countries.
Boeing will take a strategic stake in Archer as part of the agreement. The two companies established a partnership for ongoing collaboration and technology sharing.
Archer announced the acquisition alongside its second-quarter financial results. CEO Adam Goldstein described the strategic pivot as an important inflection point. The company is now diversifying across air taxis, unmanned aerial systems, and artificial intelligence for commercial and defense markets.
