Lockheed Martin signed a framework agreement with the U.S. Department of War to accelerate production of the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM). This air dominance system offers increased range and effectiveness against advanced enemy threats.

The agreement establishes a foundation for a future multiyear procurement contract pending Congressional approval. This framework provides stable, long-term demand to strengthen the defense industrial base.

The missile is compatible with F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Australia recently announced a $736 million investment to acquire the JATM system.

This acceleration will impact the aerospace and defense supply chain. The move benefits companies involved in advanced missile and munitions manufacturing.
