Lockheed Martin secured two U.S. Department of War contracts totaling approximately $868 million.
The primary award is an $850.4 million modification for the TRIDENT II (D5) Life Extension 2 program. This initiative supports a critical component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.
A separate $17.5 million modification funds material modification kits and special tooling for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program.
Work on the TRIDENT II contract will be performed across multiple states through September 2030. The Navy’s fiscal 2026 weapons procurement budget provides the funding for this project.
These awards highlight sustained government investment in high-priority strategic defense and advanced fighter programs. Such contracts remain key revenue drivers for aerospace contractors and central to the investment thesis for ETFs like XAR.
